Thank you for taking the time to reach out to us.
We look forward to answering your questions, and hope to welcome you into the Sage & Spur training program!

At this time we are a Western based program focusing on- basic & advanced horsemanship, pleasure riding, trail, cow events, and gaming.

We are fully insured- because of this, we are able to cater to all ages without limitations! However, our company has a strict 18 years old and under helmet policy. Over 18 years old you may waive your rights, but under 18 you must wear a helmet if you wish to participate in our program.

Yes! We currently offer a "Travel Training" program. We will travel to you at no extra charge to give you a one-on-one lesson with your horse, or we can provide training/ tune-up rides.

We are happy to work with horses of all different breeds, ages, and sizes. Full transparency of the horse and its behaviour need to be disclosed during the initial consultation to ensure the safety of both the horse and rider.

Lesson Rides (you are the rider) includes: lesson time, arena set up -if necessary- and an after ride break down of your progress.

The price of Training Rides (we are the rider) includes: Ride time, arena set up -if necessary-, pre and post ride grooming and tacking, turn in and turn out -if applicable.

You are not required to provide your own tack whether taking a lesson or having a training ride on your horse. Our policy does require close-toed shoes which you must provide. We provide helmets but if hygiene is a concern, we can give recommendations on places to get your own.

Although you cannot age out of our program (we have no set minimum or maximum age requirements), as a rider begins to find their niche within the equine world, they may outgrow our program. The rider may want to explore a different discipline, get higher level competition training, or simply join a different program. We encourage all of our students to do what is best for them through every stage of their equine journey and would be happy to recommend high quality training professionals to help you in whatever your next step may be.
